Henshelwoods Fine Foods of Bute proved that you just can't beat produce from Scotland's islands when they won the Best New Product award at the Highlands & Islands Food and Drink Awards 2007 this month, with their new “Chutney for…” range.
Henshelwoods Fine Foods, based in Rothesay, started as a new company in January 2006. They are dedicated to providing fine foods for independent retailers using the best available seasonal ingredients and with the minimum possible food miles. All the products are hand-made in small batches and are free from artificial colourings and preservatives. The pickles, chutneys and jams are preserved using natural ingredients; spiced and flavoured to our own unique recipes
The Henshelwoods owned and ran an award winning Delicatessen in the centre of York and, making many of there own products they were acclaimed as“Rick Stein Food Heros”. Lynn also steered the Deli to Observer Food Magazine’s “Best Deli In Yorkshire and Humberside” and runner up in the “UK Independent Retailer of the Year” and the Independent Magazine’s “Top Ten Hampers in the UK”.
Lynn’s expertise in creating new tastes and exciting new products has ensured Henshelwoods are causing a sensation in fine food retailing. “We have not had anything really new in our market for years and Henshelwoods products are really filling a gap.” A typical quote from an independent retailer.
