ISLE OF ARRAN CHEESE SCOOPS SILVER AT THE ROYAL HIGHLAND SHOW.

Employees at the Torrylinn Creamery are celebrating a silver double for their Isle of Arran cheese from this year’s prestigious Royal Highland Show.

The creamery, which is owned by First Milk, the UK’s largest farmer-owned co-operative, won silver in both the Mature Traditional Dunlop Truckle and the Mature Traditional Truckle categories.

Creamery manager, Alex Home, said his team was absolutely delighted at the success. “Winning silver at the Royal Highland Show underlines our reputation as a producer of award-winning cheese. Our talented cheese makers are creating superb quality cheese, with milk produced by our own Arran dairy farmers.

“The Torrylinn Creamery, which employs seven staff, is at the heart of Arran’s dairy industry. We have three producers on the island so it is a very tight-knit area. Our members are delighted that they own their own creamery which is right on their doorstep and produces 100% Arran cheese using only 100% local milk.

“Regional provenance is important to consumers who want to know where their cheese is coming from – and that they are also supporting local farmers,” added Mr Home.

“Buying the Isle of Arran brand means that consumers can trust that the milk is local and the cheese is guaranteed 100% Arran.”

The Torrylinn Creamery is enjoying another bumper start to the tourist season. From the viewing gallery, visitors can see our dedicated cheese makers carefully craft the award winning Isle of Arran Dunlop cheese using time honoured methods passed down through generations.

The creamery shop is open Monday- Friday, 10am - 4pm.
